Earth Charter +25
The Earth Charter +25 years celebration took place at the Peace Palace in The Hague in July 2025.
Participants came from all backgrounds and every part of the world — from China, Japan and Costa Rica to the USA, and countries across Africa and Europe.
Lavinia co-organised the event as a (former) young leader and workshop organiser, among other roles.

Entanglement
Together with Veronique Swinkels, and as a representative of the young leaders, Lavinia facilitated an entanglement exercise for 300 participants in the room.
The aim was to reflect on the loss of nature, and to move towards celebrating nature’s capacity to regenerate and thrive.

Workshop on Ego2Eco Leadership at Earth Charter + 25
A workshop delivered together with an Earth Charter Young Leader.
It introduced Ego2Eco theory, practice and leadership, with exercises for participants on recognising the ego and reconnecting from a place of eco. This was a 20-minute pressure-cooker workshop.

Presentation on Biodiversity – Sustainability Proposal of Ecuador: Yasuni-ITT.
Lobbying, advocacy and promotion of the Ecuadorian Yasuní-ITT initiative to leave fossil fuels underground in the Amazon’s Yasuní National Park.
Lavinia researched and published articles on this topic in various journals and media, and graduated cum laude with a Master’s thesis on the subject. She has also spoken at UN climate change conferences (UNFCCC COPs) and has championed the idea ever since.

Lavinia also gave a presentation at the Foundation’s annual Circl gathering.
Speaking in Political Spheres
Since 2010, Lavinia has been active in public speaking, particularly within political spheres — at international, national, regional and local levels.
She also speaks at conferences, including Earth Charter gatherings. Trainings on this theme are offered for environmental and youth groups, as well as for entrepreneurs, businesses and financial institutions.
